A bit of exciting news to start out this post! I now have available a CD of hymns that I’ve arranged and performed. “Inspirations” features 7 tracks in a variety of styles, including 2 performed on my Shamrock Irish harp. The tracklist includes:
1. Sweet Hour of Prayer/I Need Thee Every Hour
2. Be Thou My Vision
3. Just As I Am
4. Just A Closer Walk With Thee
5. What A Friend We Have In Jesus/Old Rugged Cross
6. Baloo Baleerie/Amazing Grace
7. In The Garden
Anyone interested in purchasing a CD ($5), feel free to send me an email or contact me via the Contact Me page! Right now, I have a limited number of CDs available, so first come, first serve!
Yesterday morning, I had the joy of performing for a women’s tea and brunch event at the Community Baptist Church here in Spring Hill. It was a wonderful event with lots of pretty decorations and a fantastic speaker. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture while I was there, but I had a lot of fun meeting some of the women from Spring Hill and sharing my faith and music through performing. Thank you to Arlene and everyone at the Community Baptist Church for inviting me to play, I look forward to seeing you again soon!
While I don’t have any pictures from the event, I do have a couple random harp-related pictures from the past week…so I thought I’d share those! First, a view of the back of my car as I headed to Alabama to record the CD. I’m so thankful to have a vehicle big enough to take 2 of my harps at once!
Next was a picture I took as I prepared to pack up my 85 for the performance yesterday morning. Our cat Gurney LOVES my transport cover for some reason and immediately makes a nest in it any time I put it on the floor. Thinking I’d outsmart him, I put the cover on our tiny dining room table since I was only putting it down for a couple minutes and didn’t want to have to battle him for it. Silly me for thinking I could outsmart our tenacious little boy!
While I’m more likely to be performing music myself than attending concerts, my husband Adam and I made the trek down to Birmingham yesterday evening to see Kiefer Sutherland perform at a cool little venue downtown. I’ve been a huge fan of his for as long as I’ve seen him in movies (and “24” is probably my most favorite TV show of all time). When I found out that not only does he have an album coming out in June and is on tour to promote it, but that I really like his style of music…I practically begged my husband to go to the concert last night. Adam was indifferent before the concert but even he ended up loving it. The concert was great (not to mention getting to see such an awesome actor) and the music was fantastic. I’ll definitely be buying his album when it comes out in a couple months and hope that he’ll be coming back around on tour again sometime soon. I’d love to go again.
